There are two versions of the program available: the Original and a Taper version designed to help with meet preparation. Both are 10-week bench press programs, running two bench sessions per week.

 

Matt has mentioned that Deathbench was originally created with lifters benching around 315 lbs or more in mind. That said, he’s also seen solid progress from athletes benching closer to 275 lbs, so there’s no strict cutoff.

 

However, if your bench is well below 315, you may benefit more from a higher-frequency program that benches three times per week (for example, Greg Nuckols’ 28 Programs), as those tend to provide more practice and volume for developing lifters.
